Confidence After Injury Starts With Something You Can Actually Do
People tell me they want to feel like themselves again. What they usually mean is they want to trust their body.
Trust does not come from being told you are fine. It comes from doing a hard thing, on purpose, and surviving it.
A Moment I Still Use
I trained a client for months before she hit her first pull-up. She cried. She was a mom who did hard things for everyone else and had decided this one was not for her. Nobody needed her name on a website for that moment to matter. She found out she was capable. That is the job.
Injury makes that harder. Pain teaches you to flinch. Good rehab teaches you the flinch is optional.
How We Build It
- Start with a task you can finish today, not the one you miss from last year
- Make the win visible: more range, more load, a cleaner rep, a calmer next morning
- Explain what we are doing so you are not guessing why the exercise exists
- Raise the ask once the last one is boring
Education is part of the session. If you do not know what changed, confidence stays borrowed from me. I want you to leave with your own.
What Not to Wait For
Do not wait until you feel fearless. Fearless is late. Capable is enough to start. Capable, repeated, becomes trust.
